Tropical Storm Chantal formed along the Carolina Coast on Saturday and is moving inland this Sunday morning.
From that point, it will turn north into Virginia, and some of its outer reaches will bring showers into Richmond starting Sunday afternoon.
Sporadic showers will continue Sunday night and Monday as the storm turns northeast, accelerates, and dissipates.
This is not an especially strong system, but by default, tropical systems are highly moisture-laden, so some brief heavy showers are possible.
But this does not appear to be a system that has a major impact on Richmond. Total rain is probably less than a half-inch.
And while it may get breezy, wind will not be an issue either.
