Good morning premium subscribers! Thank you for supporting The Weather Subtext!

What’s changed since yesterday morning’s forecast: The drier air arriving on Thursday looks a few hours slower, meaning Friday will be the nicest day this week.

The top points for Richmond this Tuesday, May 26:

There was some flash flooding yesterday evening. Heaviest rain was between Chippenham Parkway and Route 288, extending east into Varina. A narrow area between the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds, Bellwood, and Dorey Park had more than 4 inches of rain — several instances of small-scale flooding and standing water were reported in these spots. The above map shows where the heaviest rain was over the last 24 hours, with Downtown Richmond at the top of the map, and Petersburg near the bottom. Officially, 1.03” fell at the Richmond observation site.
